Overview: The Mernda Library in the City of Whittlesea opened to the public in January 2024 in a purpose-built shopfront at the Mernda Town Centre shopping precinct. ONE68 fitted out this brand-new community space, which included the main library and BOH area with an office space, a kitchen and amenities. The scope of this fitout project included: the shopfront design and manufacture, plastering, painting, flooring, lighting and the design and manufacture of the majority of the joinery. Situated just metres from public transport, the convenient location means users can fit a trip to the library around errands such as grocery shopping. The library contains a wide collection of books and other resources, as well as public computers, free Wi-Fi, seated areas for reading, study or work and self-checkout.
